Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology
company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit
frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D
pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse
oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors
for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the
Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding
professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers
harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.The Opportunity:We
are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior IT Leader to join
our team as the Director, Information Sciences (IS) Medical Affairs
Solutions. This role will be responsible for leading the
implementation, support, and continuous improvement of key Medical
Affairs platforms and processes. This includes capabilities and
platforms in support of Publications Management, Medical
Information, Funding Management, and Congress Management. As the
needs of the Medical Affairs department continue to evolve, this
role will be instrumental in identifying and integrating new
solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of medical
affairs operations.This is a leadership role requiring a strong
background in Medical Affairs technology, as well as a deep
understanding of the unique needs of Medical Affairs teams within
the broader pharmaceutical industry. You will partner closely with
Medical Affairs Operations, Commercial/Medical Data, Analytics,
Field, and Omnichannel solutions teams, and other cross-functional
teams, ensuring successful integration and collaboration across the
Commercial and Medical technology stack.The Director of Medical
Affairs Solutions will be a key member of the Information Sciences
team, reporting to the VP of Commercial and Medical Information
Systems and is expected to develop and nurture close partnerships
with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly in Medical Affairs.
Through this partnership and their strong understanding of business
needs, this person will help select and enhance user-friendly and
scalable platforms, design a flexible yet reliable architecture,
and implement production support structures in partnership with
Medical Affairs.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and ongoing support
of Medical Affairs platforms and solutions that are unique to the
department, including but not limited to Publications Management,
Medical Information, Funding Management, and Congress
Management.
- Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs operations teams to
understand current and evolving technology needs, prioritize, and
translate them into actionable IT solutions.
- Work with the Commercial/Medical Data, Analytics, Field, and
Omnichannel Solutions teams to ensure smooth integration of
platforms and alignment with data platforms and CRM systems.
- Serve as the senior IT partner to Medical Affairs colleagues
and leadership, providing strategic insights and ensuring that IT
solutions meet business requirements and industry standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and enhancement of
systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the business while
maintaining high levels of efficiency and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
to propose innovative solutions and best practices that will
benefit Medical Affairs and the organization as a whole.
- Lead cross-functional teams to manage change and roll out new
capabilities across the organization.
- Over time, build and lead a team of IT professionals to support
the growing Medical Affairs portfolio and ensure ongoing
operational excellence.
- Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of data across
all Medical Affairs systems and processes.
- Employ enterprise thinking in collaborating with vendors and
consultants to establish and optimize information systems.
- Provide end-user training and support for field, marketing, and
operations colleagues to leverage digital systems and data.Required
Skills, Experience and Education:
- Expertise in Medical Affairs technology platforms, including
but not limited to Publications Management, Medical Information,
Funding Management, and Congress Management, with strong experience
in system implementation and management.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, influence,
and inspire diverse teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve
business goals in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, defining or
improving operating models, processes, roles, and responsibilities
while executing and building capabilities and platforms.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a
commitment to meeting high standards of quality.
- Exceptional customer service. Acts with urgency and passion and
has a zeal towards delighting customers and realizing continuous
improvement.
- Extensive experience in platform integrations (real-time and
batch) between Medical Affairs systems, CRM, data warehouses, and
third-party applications.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving
innovative solutions in dynamic and complex environments.
- Deep understanding of regulatory, compliance, and data privacy
requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, with the ability to
ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Proven track record in managing both large-scale projects and
day-to-day operations, aligning initiatives with business
priorities.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and
external vendors, ensuring successful project execution and
continuous improvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of
collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry,
particularly within the Medical Affairs function, with a strong
commitment to customer service and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 12 years of
experience in delivering technology services, including 6+ years
implementing and customizing Medical Affairs solutions.Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with emerging technologies, including AI, machine
learning, or advanced analytics, and how they can be applied within
Medical Affairs.
- Experience supporting Health Economics and Outcomes Research
(HEOR) and Real World Evidence (RWE) teams.
- Prior experience working within Medical Affairs Operations
teams.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
- Experience with an oncology launch is desired.The base salary
range for this full-time position is $204,000 to $255,000 for
candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.
The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the
salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be
adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary
ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay
is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills,
experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or
training.Please note that base salary is one part of the overall
total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash
