Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 12 Hours (1900 - 0730) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of acute care nursing experience and 2 completed traveling assignments (6 months each) License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Telemetry Interpretation, IV Insertion Must-Have: Proficiency with Cerner Job Description: - Work in a unit with 44 beds, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 for 36 beds and 4:1 for 8 beds. - Provide care for patients with conditions such as cardiac surgery, myocardial infarction (MI), irregular heart rate, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia (PNA), renal failure, and pacemaker insertion. - Perform continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). - Titrate necessary medication drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and manage Dopamine and Dobutamine (without titration). - Participate in weekend shifts every other weekend as required. - Float to different units as needed based on skill set. - Demonstrate strong telemetry interpretation skills and the ability to insert IVs. - Engage in a fast-paced environment ensuring high-quality patient care. - Complete paperwork and routine documentation accurately and efficiently. - Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.
